Here is a country that has stayed out of the international bologna and has been a true “independent” in all this “world race” malarky…I can’t think of a better venue for the upcoming winter olympics. Universal Healthcare and a government that says, “No thanks” to foreign conflict. Why does USA have to be the “world police” on almost every issue. Canada has a stronger economy and lower unemployment rate and helps there own people first every time. My sister married a Canadian and I was blessed to frequent the gem of a city, Vancouver B.C. the city all Seattleites envied. It was like going to Europe in a 3 hour car ride (except for the sometimes border-bull) …otherwise, people were embracing, open-minded and so not Western thought in a way. I think they giggle at that the extent we take our Conventions on both sides - like we are the end all statement to the world. I tried to get a job in Whistler/Blackcomb as a certified ski instructor one year when I was 19…they said they would hire someone from Australia or Malaysia before me…I get it, the commonwealth may be the strongest coalition in the world and loyal to the extreme. But I knew at that moment I was not part of this real world. The U.S. has severed it’s independence from the rest of the world. We need to change our image, now more than ever. Much love, ME

All right so, I should back off my earlier comments, but I am a diehard Hillary supporter. That is not to say Obama didn’t grow on me, I just did not get my first pick. Anyhow, speaking of picks, Biden seems to be solid, he’s no Gore or Hillary or Richardson, but solid. However, Sarah Palin? This will surely end McCain’s journey to nowhere. Keep in mind, before I rant, she would be President of the United States if, god forbid, something happened to McCain, ie: heart attack, stroke, diarrhea, etc. First of all, she belongs in Alaska not Washington D.C. Second, her 17 year old daughter got knocked up, and hubby has a DWI. This is soooooooo not Republican values, or is it? Third, her political experience comes from being a leader in the Alaskan Independence Party, which “challenges the legality of the Alaskan statehood vote as illegal and in violation of United Nations charter and international law” and has a platform calling for a referendum on whether Alaska should secede from the United States to become an independent nation, remain a state, or become a U.S. territory or commonwealth. Ummm…are you getting all this? You gotta be kidding me. I would say, as a steadfast Hillary supporter (and I still am), that it is ludicrous, and an insult, to think Palin would sway Hillary supporters or women voters from the Obama ticket. Hillary is far superior in foreign affairs, domestic issues, environment, national security, economy, and already a liaison for the U.S. Funny how the “drill for oil thing” comes to mind. Come on! What a ridiculous GOP ticket! Anyone who gives their vote to this pair should go see a doctor! Even if you are somewhat conservative, Obama is ahead of the game on family values. Palin has absolutely no clue about what is going on in the lower 48. I’ve been to Alaska numerous times, trust me, they could care a less what we do. McCain has taken “Maverick” to the extreme, but I think he is transparent, and most will read into this as some bad chess move. More to come…

First of all the rumors of Al Gore as the VP pick were exciting if not encouraging for a man, who is true and just, but might need help to beat a “burn out maverick” like McCain. His pick, other than Gore, should have clearly been Hillary. Now he sends a message that the Dems are not together, but competing for the ticket. The boldest statement would have been to embrace her as a colleague, rather than a foe. He will shoot himself in the foot over this unwise decision - Hillary is what the other half wanted…to not embrace this is arrogant and a desire to play “wild card” rather than unite the Dems we have that are kick’n some ass. The convention now seems flat and without a passion for change. Sure she is a “Clinton Camp’er” but we need a profound statement this time - the election of the century - seems like a compromise on his part. Good luck Obama….you still got my vote

like all new software or third party stuff there is always the frustrating task of working out the bugs, which I like to call “shimming the gimmick”. It makes sense if you read into it. This blog platform is no exception to the “shim”. It will take a couple of days to iron out the wrinkly stuff and then on to happy blogging. So far it looks pretty good. Minimal shimming I think. More to come…
